In Larnaca the Christmas tree will be lit on November 27

Mayor Andreas Viras promised that the celebration of Christmas here will be without exaggeration magical. “We aim for Larnaca to become a big family, a huge hug full of warmth, enough for everyone,” Viras said at a special press conference on preparations for the holiday.

The effects of the pandemic are still being felt. “It still casts a shadow over our lives and affects the economic situation,” the mayor noted. Therefore, the celebration of Christmas should be bright, warm and beautiful. To raise people’s spirits and give them vitality. The motto of this year is “Magical Christmas in Larnaca”. “We hope that routine and everyday life will give way to light and joy, turning the city into a dynamic, beautiful and cozy place,” said the mayor.

Just a few days ago, the festive decoration of the streets was completed. In the coming months, the municipality will hold a number of events in different parts of the city. On Sunday, November 27, at 17:30, in the presence of Parliament Speaker Annita Demetriou, the Christmas tree and all the city lights will be solemnly lit on Europe Square. Singers, dance groups, children’s philharmonic society and municipal children’s choir will perform on the occasion.

On the Europe Square on November 25th opens Christmas Luna Park, which will work until January 8. On December 10 Santa Claus, surrounded by majorettes, elves and other fairy tale characters will ride through Larnaca. On December 19 a big concert will be held in the shopping district of the city.

From December 19 to 24 and from December 27 to 30 there will be numerous Christmas events with music, theater and dance groups in Ermou, Pallas, Agiu Lazarou and Armenikis Ekklisias squares. ะก

December 17 to 24, 2022, the Christmas Food Festival will take place in Zuhuri Square, which is open after restoration. During December, Santa Claus, accompanied by Larnaca motorcyclists, will visit the shopping district.
